Where has the time gone?

Well, if my post frequency is any indication, naps are still short around here. We have been pretty busy between house hunting, Mike's work and just overall life, so this is going to be a long post.

It is crazy to think about how much Bridget has changed since we arrived in Colorado. Our last days in San Diego included her learning how to roll over and sit up and now we are on to crawling, "dancing", climbing stairs, feeding herself and, it seems like, nearly talking. Oh, and she finally got a first tooth about a month and a half back...we're still waiting on it's partner, but a top tooth just came in this week while we were moving. We almost are out of babyhood and into toddlerland.

Without further ado, here's some photos from the past six months.

A long overdue goodbye to San Diego

We've long since settled into Denver, but before the memories are lost, we wanted to share our adventures from our last several weeks in San Diego. Between Sarah's wedding and our move date was only about six weeks, and time flew.

We had an unintentional staycation at a hotel in Coronado while the neighbor's house was being treated for termites. It probably wasn't necessary, but bring a worry wort meant shelling out a few bucks to avoid the chemicals.

One of the hardest parts of leaving Southern California was saying goodbye to Emily and David. We loved having them so close and getting to spend time with them at the beach. We met up one last time in Laguna Beach, which is probably our favorite place in downtown SoCal. ;) Bridget was a trooper and had a great time at the beach.

In addition to meeting up with Aunt Emily and Uncle Dave, Aunt Sarah also came out for one last trip. We were able to go apple picking in Julian (yes, apples grow somewhere near San Diego) and we also made it to the beach. Bridget loved to gnaw on the apples and she sat up for the first time at Solana Beach. It was a pretty big weekend for her.

Bridget turned 5 months just before the big move, so we got in our last photo shoot at the house on Iowa St.

We said some final goodbyes to our neighborhood, including "Morning Joe" (the sweetest 90 year-old man that we met on out morning walks and who Bella adored).

I flew home with Bridget, and poor Mike took the long way with the car, Bella, and the bird. For those of you who don't know Mr. Tibbs, picture driving for 16 hours with a high-pitched tweet in your right ear. Mike at least got to stop at Cedar Breaks, which hopefully partially made up for two long days with the bird.

We miss many things about San Diego, but we are really grateful to be back near family and friends. We are mostly settled in in Denver, and have had many adventures over the past few months. We are still house hunting, and as a result, we are very grateful for the hospitality of Gramma (Donna). We hope everyone had a very happy holiday season.

Things to do with a baby in Denver

Bridget has been a woman on the go these past few months. Not only did she make two trips to Denver, but she also got to see Laguna Beach, CA (a future blog post) and she turned 4 months old.

Her first trip and first flight was in early August for Sarah's wedding shower. She was a champ on the flight there and had a little bit of a tougher time on the flight back. That may be from all the action she had, which included meeting several new friends (Ben, Evelyn, Owen, Lizzy, John and Jace), making a trip to Boulder to see some of Mom's old coworkers and Aunt Sarah, checking out some food trucks with Aunt Meghan, brunch at Nonnie and Papaw's house, meeting Mimi and Poppi's friends, visiting the Denver Art Museum, meeting the Colorado Phillips (Sean, Jane and Owen) and Cousin Jeff and more.

Bridget's second trip to Denver was in early September for Aunt Sarah and Uncle Mark's wedding. Her second trip was equally as eventful and this time Dad/Mike got to join us. It's amazing how much difference a month can make. She went from napping anywhere and everywhere, to fighting naps to socialize and she has become so much more observant. It made some of the busyness a little trickier, but we still had a great visit.

So far, her fourth month has brought a lot of amazing moments, including a lot of "talking", her first real laugh, many attempts at rolling over, grabbing at everything, which is immediately follow by her sticking it in her mouth, finding her feet and smiling all the time. Mike and I are having so much fun with her and I think some of her four month pictures really highlight how much she's changed. Not only is she growing like a weed, reaching the 90th percentile for height and weight, but her personality is really starting to shine through.
