A long overdue goodbye to San Diego

We've long since settled into Denver, but before the memories are lost, we wanted to share our adventures from our last several weeks in San Diego. Between Sarah's wedding and our move date was only about six weeks, and time flew.

We had an unintentional staycation at a hotel in Coronado while the neighbor's house was being treated for termites. It probably wasn't necessary, but bring a worry wort meant shelling out a few bucks to avoid the chemicals.

One of the hardest parts of leaving Southern California was saying goodbye to Emily and David. We loved having them so close and getting to spend time with them at the beach. We met up one last time in Laguna Beach, which is probably our favorite place in downtown SoCal. ;) Bridget was a trooper and had a great time at the beach.

In addition to meeting up with Aunt Emily and Uncle Dave, Aunt Sarah also came out for one last trip. We were able to go apple picking in Julian (yes, apples grow somewhere near San Diego) and we also made it to the beach. Bridget loved to gnaw on the apples and she sat up for the first time at Solana Beach. It was a pretty big weekend for her.

Bridget turned 5 months just before the big move, so we got in our last photo shoot at the house on Iowa St.

We said some final goodbyes to our neighborhood, including "Morning Joe" (the sweetest 90 year-old man that we met on out morning walks and who Bella adored).

I flew home with Bridget, and poor Mike took the long way with the car, Bella, and the bird. For those of you who don't know Mr. Tibbs, picture driving for 16 hours with a high-pitched tweet in your right ear. Mike at least got to stop at Cedar Breaks, which hopefully partially made up for two long days with the bird.

We miss many things about San Diego, but we are really grateful to be back near family and friends. We are mostly settled in in Denver, and have had many adventures over the past few months. We are still house hunting, and as a result, we are very grateful for the hospitality of Gramma (Donna). We hope everyone had a very happy holiday season.
