We have arrived...here are some highlights from the last couple of weeks

Welcome to KingSDom, Erin and Mike's blog about our life in San Diego. We wanted to set up a place where we could share some highlights of our lives, so feel free to check back from time to time. 

The last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind. Mike left his last job on July 20th, the movers came on July 25th, we left for San Diego on July 28th, Mike started his job on July 30th, Erin finished her last class for her Master's of Public Administration on July 31, and we moved into our new place on August 3rd. Here are some highlights from the past couple of weeks.

We had some lovely going-away parties.

We moved out of Irving Street.

We found the CD Mike made for our road trip to California 10 years ago, and played it as we left Denver.

We drove through the beautiful Rocky Mountains

And brought Mr. Tibbs along for the trip...

...even smuggling him into the Las Vegas hotel room

We went big in Las Vegas...

...or not

We arrived in San Diego to our new circus home, or house being treated for termites. This was a new site for us Coloradans.

Erin finished her Masters in Public Administration and we celebrated two nights in a row.

We moved into our house once the tent was removed...

...and started settling in.

We explored our new neighborhood...

...and Balboa Park.

We continue to be shocked by how low the planes fly here.

We were entertained by some table tennis...

...and we happened upon a rehearsal for the weekly organ concert at Balboa Park.

Of course, there were many more boring events in between, such as Target runs, unpacking, and setting up gas and electricity, but overall things are off to a good start. Erin heads back to Denver next week, and will return with Mike's mom, the car, and Bella just in time to host our first visitors! We love and miss you all!
