The final quarter...

We can't believe how fast it has come, but we are in the home stretch. Baby King is officially at 30 weeks, and out of a 40 week pregnancy, that means we are 3/4 of the way there. Mike decided not to tell Erin that her makeup was smeared or that her hair was disheveled for the 30 week picture. So while vanity may have gotten in the way of posting this picture in the past, here it is anyways in the hope that Baby King will enjoy these pictures some day.

We both had the chance to go to Denver last weekend where Erin had a great baby shower. It was a snowy day, so some people were not able to make it, but we had a lot of fun. Mike was able to spend some time drinking beer with some friends during the shower and we got to enjoy catching up with friends and family one last time before we become parents!

That trip will be our last until after this little girl arrives. We had a fun-filled February and early March between our trips to San Francisco, LA and Denver as well as a whale watching cruise here in San Diego. We didn't see any whales, but we did get to see a lot of dolphins.

The next couple of months will consist primarily of working and preparing the nursery, which has been a lot of fun. It seems that the nesting instinct has kicked in for both of us. Erin is working three days per week for a nonprofit that focuses on youth volunteerism and interning for two other nonprofits. Mike is, of course, full time at the advertising agency. Once the baby arrives, Erin will be staying at home, which we are sure Bella will appreciate as well. We cannot wait for this little girl to make her entrance in the world. She is moving around a lot right now, to the point where you can actually see movement when you stare at Erin's belly. We are so excited to meet her and find out who she is, but of course we want her to wait until she is nice and healthy, so we are hoping it won't be any sooner than May 10.
